A unique cafe, established in 1995 within the Gabriadze Theatre, offers exquisite traditional Georgian cuisine paired with a wide selection of local wines.
In 1995, at the Gabriadze Theater, Rezo Gabriadze created and opened the café "Don't Grieve!" because every theater must have a café and the "aroma of roasted coffee beans." The interior and exterior of the café were designed by the master himself. It was one of the first places in Tbilisi where Georgian national cuisine was presented in the format of a European café. Since 2010, the name changed to "Gabriadze Café."
In 2020, due to the pandemic, the café temporarily closed. The Gabriadze family, along with the family of Galaktion and Elina Tabidze, continued Rezo's work, and now, after a four-year break, the café "Gabriadze" is reopening its doors to guests starting in May 2024.
The interior of the updated "Gabriadze Café" is a unique journey through the master's own creativity. For the last 30 years of his life, Rezo Gabriadze was passionate about ceramics and created a vast number of ceramic tiles with decorative motifs, humorous texts, and characters from his works. Ceramics play a leading role in the café’s new interior.
"This theatrical café became one of the first real cafés in Tbilisi, where there were cafeterias during the Soviet era."
